Enforcement of the NYS Uniform Fire Prevention & Building Codes. The purpose of this code is to provide a minimum level of protection from the hazards of fire, inadequate building construction and improper maintenance in residential and nonresidential buildings, both public and private, so as to establlish uniform standards to reduce the threat to public health and safety for occupants and users of buildings.
